On March 31 and April 7, we are excited to announce a special two part episode on incivility or rudeness in the classroom.
Whether it is an angry shopper waiting in the checkout line at your local supermarket, being yelled out by some impatient driver, or online rudeness, incivility is on the rise. Many teachers have also seen a rise of incivility, or rudeness in the classroom. Is incivility, what academics define as rude, discourteous, or disrespectful behaviours that disrupt the learning environment and violate norms of mutual respect, truly on the rise and is it a reflection of the greater society? Is it connected to the Covid 19 pandemic? What is going on? The Stunt Brothers, inspired by an excellent segment on the CBC Radio program The Current with Matt Galloway, want to discover more on this hot topic. So we have a two parter. On March 31 we will be speaking with Owen Howell, a secondary school teacher at Carson Graham Secondary in North Vancouver, Canada. On April 7 we chat with Steve Zlotnik, an elementary school teacher at Montroyal Elementary in North Vancouver. Once again we encourage listeners to visit our website at stuntbrothers.ca and offer their own views and opinions on this compelling topic.
